Dr. Tanjit Taggar’s journey into dentistry began in his hometown in central New Jersey, where he grew up in a family of dentists. This early exposure instilled in him a profound interest in dental care, leading him to pursue a career in the field from a young age. Dr. Taggar embarked on an accelerated path that combined his undergraduate studies with his dental training, allowing him to earn both his Bachelor of Science and his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) within seven years — a feat that required him to interview for dental school as a high school senior.

It wasn't until his third year of dental school at the University of Pennsylvania that Dr. Taggar discovered his passion for endodontics. Following a rotation in the Endodontics Department, he was inspired to specialize further, leading him to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. There, he completed his Certificate and Master of Science in Endodontics, equipping him with the specialized skills not just to treat but truly understand the complexities of root canal therapy and related procedures.

In 2019, Dr. Tanjit Taggar became board certified with the American Board of Endodontics. Less than 20% of all endodontists achieve this status. The purpose of the American Board of Endodontics is to assure the public that the endodontists it certifies have demonstrated exceptional knowledge, skill, and expertise in the specialty of endodontics and to progressively raise the quality of patient care.

For the last eight years, Dr. Taggar has practiced in various locations across the Northeast. Now, he and his wife have settled in Charlotte, North Carolina, and plan to raise their family there.

Outside of the office, Dr. Taggar is passionate about travel, fitness, and food. He particularly enjoys exploring new cafes and can spend hours discussing the complexity of coffee.
